Leading torch bearers of Navjagran(New Renaissance)
Since old times, the religion has deep penetration in Indian social life. The psyche has been very strong. Daily life, policies of day today life matters and rituals have arithmetic of number has always been in favour of Hindus as a result of which its control on the social lifeof Indian been pursuid as per religious beliefs.
In older times also, there were good and bad sides of religion based behavioural norms. The caste system in Hindu religion has been there since long and has been considered the bad side of it. The caste system is based upon discrimination, casteism and unequal premises. In this system the half of the Indian Population has been earmarked in lower castes. In our society these castes did not have equal rights. In addition to this the women of Indian society, were placed at the receiving end.
The condition of women and dalits had been just like slaves in our society. Both of the categories were kept deprived of many human rights.Kabir, Nanak, Dadoo, Ravidas ,Meera and many other sufi saints struggled a lot against this exploitative caste system in Indian Society. The basement of National Freedom Movement was erected on the pillars of social reformists.
As a result of the struggles of these social reformists and other struggles in different fields, we got a secular and democratic system of Indian society.Today we have to struggle for maintenance of this secular and democratic fabric of Indian Society and for justice and equality for whole of the society.
For this uphill task,we can take inspiration from these social reformists like Jyotiba Phulle.Jyotiba Phulle was born in 1827 near Pune in Khanbari village.
